Micro-manufacture and Islam

Do a search on Amazon using the word simply “biomimetics” and “All”, not just “books”.

See the peculiar video advertised there:

Biomimetics / Technology In Nature - Understanding Islam - Series [DVD]

At the top it says though you may not be able to read:

“Understanding Islam”.  Is this not peculiar?

Biomimetics and Psychology – “6 Robots”

Hi folks

I know it has been a long time since you have heard from me, but I am still chugging along and my site shall stay up for at least another year.

A lot of people voice fears about A.I. these days.  It’s interesting, no?

I knew a guy at Bath University named Dylan Evans who was a psychologist in the Biomimetics Group.  God knows what he is doing these days.

He used to spout a lot about Asimov’s three laws of robotics and not much else.  This was before I, Robot the movie came out sand I don’t think he thought anyone else read.  Anyway.

How do you program the fear instinct in a robot?

Put it this way.  On BBC2 this evening was a program called “6 Robots” about robots and the Health Service and the possibilities.

One of them at home being tested stopped working when the internet went down.  Why was it not self-sustaining and built with an instinct for self preservation?

Great possibilities though!

Happy New Year and may You be Blessed!
